Our veterinarians at Founders Green animal hospital are well equipped to examine your pet before travel and issue all the necessary documentation. This process can certainly be confusing, especially for first-time travelers, so we are here to guide you each step of the way.
Note: We do not issue international health certificates.
Here is what you can expect when you bring your pet in for a travel certificate:
Different airlines and destinations will have different requirements, so make sure to check to prevent any issues. If you are traveling internationally, some countries will allow for digital certifications from the USDA while others require a physical paper copy. If you know you are traveling, give us a call in advance so we can discuss your options and figure out the appropriate timeline.
If you are traveling by plane, we strongly recommend having your pet with you in the cabin if at all possible. Being with your pet alleviates much stress that the journey can bring and also lets you monitor them and be in control of temperatures and other variables. We are happy to discuss all of your options with you to decide on the best course of action.
